As we expected, a very competitive match against a competitive team.
The rival with one point in the League wanted to show that they can do more and they had quality to do more and be in better position in the table.
The game Started very well divided for both sides, but very Tactical. Both teams with respect playing with few risks.
We had a couple of chances but our game was not fluid and consistent. Our bad positioning in the center of the field, the midfielders, could´t understand the game in different moments, with ball and without ball.
With that, we started to loose the control of the game because we lost the middle. The opposite team started to have more and better ball possession and that made our team nervous. With a individual mistake in one corner against, we conceded a goal and the 1-0. After that the team woke up and we also made one small tactical change to try to score before the half time and with that reaction we scored 1-1 by a long shot from Akiles that scored a beautiful and well deserved goal.
In the Half time we spoke about what we needed to change, tactically and mentally. We changed the system, in 4-2-3-1 with dynamics of 4-4-2. With that, we start to have more players in the center of the field, block the game of the opposition team and we could have the ball with more consistency to play our game and create successive goal chances.
Naturally our goal appeared after a great ball movement to the right side with a beautiful cross from Garret and header and finishing of Akiles.
It was one dynamic that we worked very much during the week, and that happened as a goal, and it was beautiful to watch. After the goal, the opposite team tried to play more direct to try to create chances but our defensive organization was outstanding. Very solid and confident in every action, with right covers and with the team very well balanced.
We refreshed the team with players like Jay, who brings into the game speed and offensive aggressivity, Oli and Cristian, helped to control the rhythm of the game with ball retention and giving more quality in the center in some phases of the game. Jordan always bring a positive attitude and simple moves that the team needed at that time and Alvaro, the first appearance in the team this year.
In resume, was well deserved victory, 3 point and 3 wins in a row, that was our objective in the beginning of the week.
Now, is time to keep working, thinking about the next game, keep developing our game model improving some details more and consolidate what we are doing well.
