A great and very complete game from our team.
We had a mission to show our work and everything about all the information that the players are absorving the last 3 weeks.
With a very strong identity with the ball and great defensive commitment, we controlled the entire first half.
The team start the game very solid and try to understand the free spaces and where we could connect to explore. We were very smart attracting the opponent and exploring the lines, opening spaces for wingers Ben and Molina that created a huge danger all the time, very vertical and objective to find the area in crossings and penetrations.
We scored the goals in first half by Javi, 2, Ben Miller and Simon. Simon goal it was a brilliant collective work with the ball and finishing with a shot outside of the box unstoppable to the opponent goalie.
After 4-0, Mathew N´Jome it was sent off with direct red card, after an small argue with the ref, where he didn’t whistle a fault and created a bad reaction from the player, showing lack of experience in this moments. We Adjusted the team in a Systemic way without losing our identity with the ball but with a little changes off the ball.
Second half we kept controlling the game even with 10 players.. We made a couple of changes to protect the players and the team, thinking already on the cup game in the middle of the week. We keep controlling the game but in a different way, more in a strategy way to explore 2
strikers and the free spaces inside to outside, with Ismael and Jay, we created more 4, 5 clear chances of goal and we could score one more. The strategy were there, but we had lack of efficiency.
Cruz, Fernando and Prepu, they game another fresh air to the middle of the field, winning and controlling the game with more intensitity and giving quality to the game. Overall it was a great start in the League, 3 points, we did our job collecting the points and with a very good collective exhibition.
