A very difficult game, competitive and exaggerated result.
We knew that we will face a very competitive and experienced team. We spoke about the game emotions and level o maturity necessary to face this opponent.
We started the game well, organized, trying to reduce the unforced mistakes and with 2 balls on their backs we could explore the space by Molina and Tomas. With many nervousness and chaos created by the opponent and many balls in our area they scored first. Too easy inside of area, a ball that should be cleaned before, bounced through the area and easy they scored the 1-0. We had a great reaction, keep playing our game but more awakes. We started to win more duels and be more close to the opponent. In a free kick, Simon crossed and N´Jome equalized the
game in 1-1.
We Competed very well and the result were fair at the half-time.
Second Half we started with different attitude, we needed more balance from the wingers and explore spaces into the middle because the opponent was playing in 4-2-4 System and we could find space in the middle to play with one winger inside and another winger open wide.
We started to create more, building up and controlling the game but without creating a real danger. After one throw in from the opponent and long ball to the opponent to our left side, the player dribbled 3 times our defender and crossed to the area and they scored a easy goal , 2-1.
We needed to change something in the game and we changed the System for 3-4-3 with Molina doing all left side, and Zyan in front Left with Ben and Simon, more creative players, in game construction to serve a line of 5 in our front, that was the strategy. In fact the opponent felt many difficulties to adjust to our system and at the same time we started to create danger for the left side with Zyan and Molina in very good actions that we could have a chance to score.
We were close to the 2-2 and one Shot from 35m , without any danger, and they scored the 3-1 almost 10 minutes to the end.
Our team went down mentally, understanding that was hard to come back to the game and we kept competing until the end and with another mistake and our mental energy lower, we conceded the 4-1 in the extra time already.
A very heavy result , different from the reality and all history that happened in the match. Our team need to keep growing and understand how we need to compete against these experienced teams, with more maturity and experience.
Sometimes we win, sometimes we learn and from this game we have to learn and keep working to the future back to the victories again.
